Hello my Yogalovers…

Welcome to Yogyatraa

Today I am demonstrating a fun asana; Bakasan, which is also called Crow pose or Crane pose.

Bakasana (Crow Pose)

Bakasana (Crow Pose)

Be empty stomach and squat on the floor.
Place your arms in front of you at shoulder width apart, with palms on floor and fingers widespread facing forward.
Slightly bend your arms at the elbows.
Carefully and gently lift your feet off the ground while bringing your knees up to rest on the outside of the elbows, leaning forward slightly.
Focus on a point on the ground and try to find your balance.

Keep on breathing in this pose and hold it for 5 seconds to 3 minutes.

It took me 2 weeks to get into this posture and I am still work in progress.

Increases strength in the stomach, intestines and the nervous system.
Strengthens the arm, shoulder, wrist and abdominal muscles.
Promotes balance, focus and concentration.

Place a cushion in front of you so you don’t hurt your nose in case you tip over.

Balancing, weak arms, heart trouble, hypertension, knee pain.
